📌 Key Responsibilities

• File Bills of Entry on the ICEGATE customs portal for import consignments, ensuring accurate HS code classification, declared value, and duty computation
• Coordinate with customs officers for examination of import cargo, resolve examination queries, and obtain out-of-charge after duty payment
• File Shipping Bills for export consignments and follow up for Let Export Order from the customs officer after examination or inspection clearance
• Classify goods under the correct HS code using the Customs Tariff schedule and ensure accurate duty rate application including basic customs duty, IGST, and cess
• Manage DGFT licences including advance authorisation, EPCG, and drawback claims for eligible importers and exporters under the company's CHA portfolio
• Maintain customs bond registers and ensure all bonds are renewed before expiry and all debits and credits are accurately posted
• Coordinate with shipping lines, terminal operators, and CFS for timely release of import cargo after customs clearance confirmation
• Prepare daily customs clearance MIS covering bills filed, duty paid, examinations pending, and out-of-charge obtained for the operations and accounts teams

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree in Commerce or any stream from a recognized institution
• 0 - 4 Years of experience in customs clearance, CHA firm operations, or import and export documentation; freshers with customs documentation training considered
• Hands-on knowledge of ICEGATE portal for Bill of Entry and Shipping Bill filing and basic customs ICES system navigation
• Understanding of HS code classification principles and customs duty structure including BCD, IGST, and applicable cess
• Familiarity with DGFT schemes such as advance authorisation, EPCG, and duty drawback applicable to import and export clients
• Knowledge of customs bond management and the role of surety bonds in deferred duty payment and warehouse licensing
• Good communication with customs officers and terminal operators for examination follow-up and cargo release coordination
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
