- Underwrite fire, special perils, and industrial all-risk insurance proposals for factories, warehouses, and commercial properties
- Conduct or review risk survey reports for industrial and commercial properties to assess hazard grade
- Apply tariff rates, loading factors, and deductibles for fire and engineering insurance proposals
- Evaluate contractor's all risk (CAR), erection all risk (EAR), and machinery breakdown proposals
- Coordinate with reinsurers for placement of large industrial and property risks exceeding treaty limits
- Review and decline or modify proposals with unacceptable risk quality or under-insurance
- Prepare technical underwriting notes and risk improvement recommendations for policyholders
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering with 3-8 years fire/engineering underwriting experience
- Associateship of Insurance Institute of India (AIII) or Fellowship (FIII) in Fire or Engineering preferred
- Good knowledge of fire tariff, industrial risk assessment, and construction type classification
- Experience with reinsurance treaty and facultative arrangements for large property risks
- Understanding of engineering insurance classes: EAR, CAR, MBD, and CPM policies
- Ability to conduct or review technical risk surveys for industrial clients
- Excellent technical report writing skills for underwriting decisions
