📌 Key Responsibilities

• Own the P and L for the ground handling company's Chennai airport station including revenue from multi-airline contracts against headcount cost, equipment maintenance, and administrative overhead
• Lead the full ground handling operations team across ramp, baggage handling, passenger services, cargo, and catering delivery functions and align them on shared SLA and safety targets
• Manage multi-airline service contracts at Chennai airport including SLA governance, performance review with airline duty managers, and contract renewal coordination with the commercial team
• Control the station operations budget including headcount planning, overtime management, ground support equipment maintenance cost, and third-party vendor spend
• Ensure full regulatory compliance with DGCA, BCAS, and airport operator requirements for all ground handling activities at Chennai airport including AVSEC certification of all staff
• Develop, promote, and retain key operations leadership talent including supervisors and team leaders by conducting performance reviews and creating individual development plans
• Resolve major operational incidents including aircraft damage events, serious ramp safety breaches, and large-scale baggage mishandling events with airline and airport authority coordination
• Prepare and present monthly station P and L, SLA performance scorecard, safety record, and team productivity reports to the regional or country head of the ground handling company

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• MBA or Graduate from a recognized institution; MBA with aviation or operations management specialization is preferred
• 6 - 14 Years of experience in airport ground handling operations with at least 3 years in a managerial role with full station P and L accountability
• Demonstrated track record of managing multi-airline ground handling operations at a major Indian airport with direct responsibility for SLA compliance and airline contract governance
• Strong knowledge of ramp operations, passenger services, cargo handling, and catering delivery across domestic and international airline operations
• P and L management experience covering headcount, equipment, and overhead cost control against the station revenue budget
• Excellent stakeholder management skills for airline duty managers, airport operators, DGCA and BCAS regulatory officials, and regional or country leadership
• AVSEC certification and familiarity with all BCAS and DGCA ground handling regulatory requirements applicable to a private ground handling company operating at a major Indian airport
