📌 Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new cancer patients, complete staging workup, and present at multidisciplinary tumor board for treatment planning
- Administer systemic cancer treatments including cytotoxic chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy
- Manage chemotherapy toxicities, febrile neutropenia, tumor lysis syndrome, and oncological emergencies
- Conduct bone marrow aspiration, biopsy, and intrathecal chemotherapy procedures
- Counsel patients on cancer diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and prognosis with empathy
- Participate in clinical trial implementation, patient consent, and adverse event reporting
- Provide palliative care including pain management, symptom control, and end-of-life planning
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- MBBS + MD Internal Medicine + DM Medical Oncology or DNB Medical Oncology from a recognized institution
- 4 - 15 Years of post-DM medical oncology experience
- TNMC registration mandatory
- Competency in chemotherapy prescription, central line management, and toxicity management
- Bone marrow transplant experience preferred for hospitals with active BMT programmes
- Solid tumour (breast, lung, GI, head-neck) and haematological oncology experience
- Good communication skills for breaking bad news and palliative care counselling
