- Collect blood samples from adult and paediatric patients by venipuncture using proper technique and safety protocols
- Label, process, and transport blood samples to the laboratory with correct patient identification
- Perform capillary blood collection (fingerprick, heelprick) for glucose, haemoglobin, and neonatal screening
- Follow NABL-mandated pre-analytical quality protocols for sample rejection criteria and recollection
- Maintain sterile technique and use PPE to prevent healthcare-associated infections
- Assist patients with anxiety or fear of needles through calm and reassuring communication
- Manage phlebotomy trolley stock including tubes, needles, tourniquets, and antiseptics
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), DMLT, or phlebotomy certification from a recognized institution
- 0 - 3 Years of phlebotomy or blood collection experience in a hospital or diagnostic lab
- Proficient venipuncture technique for adult, geriatric, and paediatric patients
- Knowledge of blood collection tubes (EDTA, SST, citrate) and their correct use for different tests
