📌 Key Responsibilities

• Monitor vessel ETA updates from shipping lines and port agents and coordinate pre-arrival activities including documentation submission and berth confirmation
• Liaise with port agents, stevedores, and terminal operators to confirm berth allocation, gang booking, and equipment readiness ahead of vessel arrival
• Coordinate import container movement from vessel discharge at the terminal to CFS or direct delivery and track cargo availability for customs clearance
• Prepare and submit pre-arrival documentation including vessel arrival notice, crew list coordination support, and cargo manifest details as required
• Follow up with customs for timely examination and out-of-charge for import cargo and escalate delays that impact vessel turn-around time
• Track cargo status for all import and export consignments and provide timely updates to shippers, consignees, and internal operations teams
• Maintain a port logistics diary covering vessel schedules, berth windows, cargo volumes, and expected clearance timelines for the operations team
• Prepare daily port logistics MIS covering vessel arrivals, cargo volumes processed, pending clearances, and delivery status for management review

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree in any stream from a recognized institution
• 0 - 3 Years of experience in port logistics, shipping agency, or freight operations coordination; freshers with maritime or shipping course exposure are considered
• Basic knowledge of vessel arrival processes, pre-arrival documentation requirements, and port agent coordination procedures
• Familiarity with import cargo movement from terminal discharge to CFS, customs clearance, and final delivery steps
• Good communication skills in Tamil and English for coordinating with port agents, terminal staff, customs officers, and client contacts
• Ability to track multiple vessel and cargo schedules simultaneously and provide accurate status updates under operational time pressure
• Willingness to work flexible hours during vessel arrivals, night berthing, and peak cargo period at Chennai Port and Ennore Port zones
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
