Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Ramp Agent positions in Chennai's private Aviation and Airport Ground Handling sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Load and offload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft holds using baggage carts, belt loaders, and ULD equipment under the supervision of the ramp supervisor
• Guide arriving and departing aircraft on the apron using standard marshalling signals or electronic marshalling aids to ensure safe aircraft parking and pushback
• Position and remove aircraft chocks, cones, and safety barriers in compliance with the ground handling company's ramp safety procedures and DGCA regulations
• Operate the ground power unit (GPU) and pre-conditioned air (PCA) unit to supply power and air to parked aircraft during the turn-around period
• Coordinate with the load controller on hold loading sequence, ULD positioning, and baggage weight distribution for aircraft balance compliance
• Assist with aircraft pushback operations by connecting the towbar to the nose wheel and communicating with the flight deck crew during pushback clearance
• Complete ramp safety checks before and after every aircraft turn-around including removal of all equipment, FOD walk, and confirmation of hold door closure
• Maintain accurate ramp handling records for each flight including baggage cart movement logs, GPU connection times, and any ramp safety incident reports

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• 12th pass from a recognized board
• 0 - 3 Years of experience in aircraft ramp handling at a private ground handling company; freshers with AVSEC certification are considered
• Valid AVSEC certification from a BCAS-recognized training institute and a valid APOC airport entry pass or eligibility to obtain one
• Physical fitness to work outdoors on the aircraft apron in all weather conditions including night shifts, early morning shifts, and weekend shifts
• Knowledge of standard ramp safety procedures, FOD prevention, and aircraft chocking and marshalling signals
• Willingness to work in a shift-based roster covering all flight operations hours at Chennai airport
• Basic English communication for coordination with the ramp team lead, load controller, and aircraft crew during ramp operations
