📌 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise solder paste printing parameters including squeegee speed, pressure, snap-off, and stencil aperture design
• Set up and validate reflow oven temperature profiles for lead-free and leaded solder alloys
• Investigate and resolve SMT process defects including tombstoning, bridging, solder balls, and insufficient solder
• Conduct SMT process capability studies using SPC charts and Cpk analysis for critical process parameters
• Coordinate with stencil vendors on aperture design changes based on solder paste coverage measurements
• Review new product PCB designs for SMT process feasibility and provide DFM feedback
• Perform BGA void analysis using X-ray and correlate with reflow profile parameters
• Qualify new solder paste materials, fluxes, and SMT equipment through structured DOE and process validation

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering
• Hands-on SMT process engineering experience in a PCBA manufacturing environment
• Deep understanding of solder paste rheology, stencil design, and reflow oven profiling
• Knowledge of IPC-7525 stencil design guidelines and IPC-J-STD-001 soldering requirements
• Experience in SMT defect analysis - tombstoning, bridging, cold joints, BGA voids
• Familiarity with SPC tools and Cpk analysis for SMT process control
• Ability to conduct DOE for process optimisation and document results in a structured format
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
