📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Continental / Western Cook positions in Coimbatore's private Restaurant Chain sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Prepare continental and western cuisine dishes including soups, salads, mains, and desserts to standardised recipes.
• Cook a full range of continental sauces including bechamel, velout?, espagnole, hollandaise, and reduction sauces.
• Prepare western breakfast items including egg dishes, continental cold cuts, pastry accompaniments, and fresh juices.
• Grill and saut? proteins including chicken, fish, and meat cuts to correct internal temperatures and textures.
• Prepare pasta, risotto, and grain-based dishes to al dente specifications and correct sauce consistency.
• Plate dishes according to fine dining or casual dining presentation standards specific to the restaurant brand.
• Coordinate with the sous chef on menu changes, new dish development, and ingredient sourcing for the continental section.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or degree in hotel management or culinary arts from a recognised institution with continental cuisine focus.
• Two to six years of cooking experience in the continental kitchen of a hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant.
• Proficiency in French and European cooking methods including braising, poaching, roasting, and emulsification.
• Knowledge of continental sauce preparation and the ability to produce consistent mother and derivative sauces.
• Familiarity with HACCP food safety management and temperature control protocols for continental proteins.
• Ability to plate to fine dining or premium casual dining standards with attention to colour, portion, and presentation.
• Good English and Tamil communication skills to coordinate with international kitchen staff and service teams.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
