📋 Job Description

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and operational leadership to the private NBFC-MFI across all functions and geographies
• Own institution-level P and L including revenue, cost, portfolio quality, provisioning, and profitability targets
• Lead RBI engagement including inspections, queries, and regulatory submissions with full institutional accountability
• Represent the institution to board of directors, investors, lenders, rating agencies, and industry bodies
• Drive organisational design, senior leadership hiring, and capability building across the institution
• Chair or participate in ALCO, credit committee, risk committee, and board-level governance forums
• Set and champion the institution's responsible finance and client protection strategy and culture

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Describe your experience as a COO, CEO, or equivalent at an NBFC-MFI with full P and L accountability?
• How have you managed RBI inspections, regulatory queries, or NBFC licence compliance at the institutional level?
• What is your approach to scaling an MFI's operations while maintaining portfolio quality and responsible finance standards?
• How do you lead board and investor relationships, including fundraising and rating agency engagements?
• Describe a significant organisational transformation or turnaround you led at a private MFI or NBFC?
• How do you build and retain a high-performing senior leadership team in a competitive microfinance talent market?
• What is your philosophy on balancing growth, profitability, and client protection in a private NBFC-MFI?
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.

🏆 Certifications and Qualifications

Graduate degree in any stream for loan officer and field roles (minimum qualification at most MFIs); NISM Series V-A for MFI staff handling mutual fund cross-sell; RBI NBFC-MFI compliance awareness and Responsible Finance guidelines (RBI Harmonised Guidelines 2022) for operations; PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) and KYC awareness for branch roles; credit analysis and cashflow assessment training for credit officer roles; training in JLG (Joint Liability Group) lending methodology; Tamil language fluency required for field-facing roles in Coimbatore
