📌 Key Responsibilities

• Appraise individual and group loan applications by assessing borrower income, cashflow, and repayment capacity
• Verify income documents, trade receipts, and household cashflow for individual loan applicants
• Conduct CIBIL or bureau checks and interpret credit history for loan eligibility decisions
• Prepare credit appraisal notes and recommend loan amounts within sanctioned policy limits
• Monitor approved loan utilisation and flag early signs of delinquency to branch manager
• Maintain portfolio MIS tracking approval rates, rejection rationale, and disbursement data
• Support internal audits by providing credit file documentation and appraisal workings

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Do you have experience appraising microfinance or NBFC individual loan applications?
• Can you assess borrower household cashflow and income using informal documentation?
• Are you familiar with CIBIL bureau checks and their interpretation for MFI credit decisions?
• How do you identify and mitigate credit risk in a JLG or individual MFI loan?
• Do you have experience preparing credit appraisal notes for branch manager review?
• Are you aware of RBI NBFC-MFI qualifying asset norms and loan eligibility criteria?
• How do you track and report portfolio-at-risk indicators in an MFI credit portfolio?
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.

Graduate degree in any stream for loan officer and field roles (minimum qualification at most MFIs); NISM Series V-A for MFI staff handling mutual fund cross-sell; RBI NBFC-MFI compliance awareness and Responsible Finance guidelines (RBI Harmonised Guidelines 2022) for operations; PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) and KYC awareness for branch roles; credit analysis and cashflow assessment training for credit officer roles; training in JLG (Joint Liability Group) lending methodology; Tamil language fluency required for field-facing roles in Coimbatore
