📌 Key Responsibilities

• Operate multi-slice CT scanners for routine and emergency examinations including brain, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and musculoskeletal studies.
• Select appropriate scan protocols based on clinical indication, adjust kVp, mAs, and pitch parameters for optimal image quality at minimum radiation dose.
• Coordinate intravenous contrast injection timing using a power injector and liaise with the radiologist for contrast-enhanced CT angiography and dynamic phase studies.
• Perform CT image reconstruction using standard and advanced reconstruction kernels and transfer completed studies to PACS for radiologist reporting.
• Monitor patients during CT examinations for contrast reactions including mild urticaria, bronchospasm, and anaphylaxis and initiate emergency protocols when required.
• Apply AERB radiation safety protocols including use of bismuth shields, dose modulation settings, and keeping a scan log for occupational dose records.
• Perform daily CT scanner quality assurance including air calibration, water phantom CT number verification, and noise measurement and document results.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Sc. Radiology or a post-DMLT Diploma in CT Technology with at least two years of hands-on multi-slice CT scanner operation experience.
• Proficiency in CT protocol selection for brain, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and vascular studies including appropriate collimation, pitch, and reconstruction settings.
• Experience coordinating intravenous contrast administration using power injectors for contrast-enhanced CT and CT angiography studies.
• Knowledge of CT image reconstruction including standard and high-resolution kernels and multi-planar reformatting (MPR) for 3D image generation.
• Awareness of AERB radiation protection requirements for CT operators including TLD badge monitoring and CT scan log maintenance.
• Ability to recognise contrast medium adverse reactions and implement first-line emergency management under radiologist supervision.
• Familiarity with PACS image transfer, study labelling, and quality check workflows to ensure complete and accurate study delivery for reporting.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
