📌 Key Responsibilities

• Manage all laboratory operations including staffing, quality, equipment, inventory, vendor relationships, and regulatory compliance for the diagnostic centre.
• Lead NABL accreditation and renewal processes including documentation management, internal audit planning, assessor coordination, and CAPA closure.
• Develop and manage the laboratory's annual budget including reagent procurement, equipment maintenance contracts, staffing costs, and capital expenditure planning.
• Negotiate contracts with reagent suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and reference laboratory partners to optimise cost-per-test without compromising quality.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance appraisal of laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and supervisory staff.
• Implement and review standard operating procedures, test menus, and turnaround time policies to align with diagnostic centre business objectives.
• Liaise with the diagnostic centre director and clinical advisors on laboratory performance metrics, new test introduction, and quality improvement initiatives.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. MLT with a minimum of 7 years of laboratory experience including at least 3 years in a lab management or senior supervisory role.
• Proven track record in NABL accreditation management including documentation, internal audits, and assessor liaison for a diagnostic laboratory.
• Strong financial acumen including laboratory budget planning, cost-per-test analysis, reagent tender management, and vendor contract negotiation.
• Experience in laboratory HR management including recruitment, training design, shift rostering, and performance management for technical staff.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to diagnostic laboratories in Tamil Nadu including CPCB biomedical waste rules.
• Ability to analyse laboratory performance data including TAT, QC trends, instrument uptime, and test volume to drive operational improvements.
• Leadership and communication skills for managing multi-department teams and presenting laboratory performance reports to senior management.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
