📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Lab Physician / Pathologist positions in Coimbatore's private Diagnostic Centre sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Report histopathology specimens from biopsies, surgical resections, and curettage samples by performing gross description and microscopic examination and generating final diagnostic reports.
• Interpret cytopathology specimens including FNAC smears, PAP smears, sputum cytology, body fluids, and urine cytology for malignancy and inflammatory diagnosis.
• Review peripheral blood smear morphology flagged by haematology technicians and authorise final haematology reports including bone marrow interpretations for referring haematologists.
• Perform FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) procedures on superficial lymph nodes, thyroid nodules, breast lumps, and soft tissue masses under clinical or ultrasound guidance.
• Provide clinical correlation comments on biochemistry, serology, and microbiology results for complex or critical cases to assist referring physicians in diagnosis.
• Act as the NABL technical signatory for the diagnostic centre, countersigning quality documents, audit reports, and CAPA records as required by NABL ISO 15189.
• Review and authorise critical and panic value results before telephone or written communication to the referring physician and document authorisation in the LIS.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• MD Pathology or DNB Pathology from an MCI/NMC-recognised institution with a valid Tamil Nadu Medical Council registration certificate.
• Competency in histopathology reporting covering gastrointestinal, gynaecological, skin, soft tissue, lymph node, and breast biopsy specimens.
• Proficiency in cytopathology including PAP smear reporting using the Bethesda system, FNAC smear interpretation, and sputum and body fluid cytology.
• Experience in haematology case review including peripheral smear interpretation, bone marrow reporting, and coagulation disorder evaluation.
• Ability to perform FNAC procedures on palpable superficial lesions with on-site adequacy assessment.
• Understanding of NABL ISO 15189 requirements applicable to a pathology laboratory and willingness to serve as the technical signatory for NABL accreditation.
• Strong clinical communication skills for discussing critical results, complex diagnoses, and immunohistochemistry panel selection with referring clinicians.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
