📌 Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations across haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology departments ensuring workflow is aligned with patient volume and test load.
• Monitor internal quality control results across all departments, identify QC failures, initiate corrective action, and document outcomes in the QC management record.
• Ensure turnaround time targets are met for routine, STAT, and critical tests by proactively identifying workflow bottlenecks and coordinating with department technicians.
• Prepare and manage staff duty rosters for technicians and phlebotomists, covering leave, absenteeism, and shift gaps without compromising service continuity.
• Troubleshoot analyser malfunctions, coordinate with biomedical engineers for breakdown resolution, and arrange manual backup procedures during equipment downtime.
• Manage reagent and consumable inventory by tracking stock levels, raising purchase indents, and ensuring no reagent stockouts disrupt patient testing.
• Maintain NABL documentation including SOPs, calibration records, non-conformance reports, and CAPA files in readiness for surveillance and renewal audits.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Sc. MLT or DMLT with a minimum of 4 years of progressive laboratory experience including at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior technician role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-department laboratory workflows including haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology sections.
• Comprehensive knowledge of IQC procedures, Westgard rules, and NABL quality system documentation requirements for diagnostic laboratories.
• Experience in staff scheduling, performance monitoring, and managing technician teams in a high-volume diagnostic centre environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot common analyser malfunctions and coordinate with biomedical engineering teams for equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Strong inventory management skills including reagent stock tracking, indent raising, and expiry date monitoring for laboratory consumables.
• Familiarity with incident reporting, CAPA documentation, and non-conformance management processes required for NABL accreditation compliance.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
