📌 Key Responsibilities

• Operate 3-part and 5-part haematology analysers for complete blood count (CBC) with differential analysis on EDTA samples collected from outpatient and referred patients.
• Review analyser flags and prepare peripheral blood smears for manual differential counting and morphological evaluation by the duty lab physician.
• Perform coagulation testing including PT, APTT, and INR on citrate samples received from outpatient and pre-operative referral cases.
• Conduct ESR measurement by the Westergren method and reticulocyte counting by automated or manual techniques as per test request.
• Execute ABO and Rh blood grouping procedures and maintain proper documentation of blood group results with dual-verification sign-off.
• Run internal quality control materials at the start of each shift and document IQC results in the Westgard chart logbook before patient batch processing.
• Maintain analyser performance by performing daily startup procedures, intermediate rinses, and scheduled maintenance as per the manufacturer protocol.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• DMLT or B.Sc. MLT from a recognised institution with practical experience on 3-part or 5-part haematology analysers.
• Ability to prepare, stain, and scan peripheral blood smears and identify abnormal red cell and white cell morphology for physician review.
• Knowledge of coagulation pathways and practical experience with PT/APTT/INR testing on semi-automated or automated coagulation analysers.
• Understanding of QC rules applicable to haematology testing including Westgard multi-rules and corrective action documentation.
• Proficiency in ABO and Rh blood grouping by forward and reverse grouping techniques with proper result verification protocols.
• Ability to recognise critical haematology values such as severe anaemia, thrombocytopaenia, and leukocytosis and follow escalation protocols.
• Familiarity with LIS workflows for haematology result authorisation and report release within agreed TAT.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
