📌 Key Responsibilities
- Design structural packaging formats for carton, corrugated, and rigid box applications using ArtiosCAD or TOPS
- Select appropriate board grades, flute profiles, and coating types based on product weight, stacking, and distribution requirements
- Calculate compression strength and stacking load requirements to ensure pack integrity during transport and storage
- Create 3D mock-ups and hand samples for client approval before committing to tooling and production
- Coordinate with the artwork team to ensure structural dielines align with graphic artwork files
- Conduct or oversee ISTA and internal drop and vibration tests on new pack structures
- Maintain design files, revision histories, and material specification sheets for all approved packaging formats
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- Walk me through how you would design a corrugated master carton for a 1 kg FMCG product
- How do you calculate BCT (Box Compression Test) requirements for a stacking height of 5 pallets?
- Describe how you select between E-flute, B-flute, and BC double-wall for different product types
- What FSSAI material compliance requirements apply to food-contact paperboard packaging?
- How do you design a carton that reduces material usage while maintaining structural performance?
- Explain your experience with ISTA 2A or similar transport simulation test protocols
