📌 Key Responsibilities

• Write and distribute press releases, media alerts, and story pitches to print, digital, and broadcast journalists covering relevant industry beats
• Maintain and regularly update media contact lists covering English and Tamil language newspapers, magazines, portals, and broadcast channels in Coimbatore and across India
• Monitor daily media coverage for clients using clipping services and compile coverage reports for account managers and client review
• Coordinate media interview requests and logistics including briefing notes, spokesperson preparation, and post-interview follow-up with journalists
• Research background information, industry trends, and competitor communications activity to support story angle development and media pitching
• Support the account team in preparing monthly and quarterly PR activity reports, coverage summaries, and earned media value calculations
• Respond to media queries within deadlines and route interview requests and information needs to the appropriate client contacts promptly

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, or any discipline with demonstrated written communication ability
• Basic understanding of how newsrooms operate, what makes a story newsworthy, and how to frame client news to appeal to specific media beats
• Ability to write clear, accurate, and structured press releases and media pitches under supervision from senior PR professionals
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and the ability to compile daily coverage reports for assigned client accounts
• Strong organisational skills to maintain media databases, track pitching activity, and follow up with journalists in a timely manner
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; Tamil language communication skills are an advantage for regional media relations work in Coimbatore
• Internship experience at a PR agency, communications team, or media organisation is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level roles
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
