📌 Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections across all construction work zones including excavation, formwork, structural, and finishing floors
• Enforce PPE compliance for all workers and subcontractor labour on the construction site
• Inspect scaffolding, access platforms, and temporary works for structural integrity and safety compliance
• Deliver pre-shift toolbox talks and safety briefings to site workers and subcontractor teams
• Investigate near-miss incidents, accidents, and unsafe conditions to identify root causes and corrective actions
• Maintain safety inspection records, incident reports, and statutory registers required under the Factories Act and Construction Workers Act
• Coordinate emergency response procedures including first aid, evacuation, and fire drill exercises on site

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or Graduate with a recognised safety certification such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or a safety officer diploma from NICMAR or Tamil Nadu government approved institute
• 0-4 years of safety officer experience on a residential, commercial, or infrastructure construction site
• Working knowledge of construction-specific safety hazards including work at height, crane lifts, excavation, and electrical safety
• Familiarity with the Building and Other Construction Workers Act 1996, Factories Act, and Tamil Nadu Construction Rules
• Ability to conduct scaffolding inspections and certify access structures for safe use on multi-storey construction sites
• Good communication and authority to enforce safety standards among contract labour and subcontractor teams
• Skill in preparing safety inspection reports, incident investigation reports, and monthly safety statistics
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
