📌 Key Responsibilities

• Prepare freight invoices for export and import shipments handled by the company including ocean freight, air freight, customs clearance charges, and ancillary service fees
• Prepare disbursement accounts (DA) for import and export shipments consolidating all shipping line charges, port charges, CFS charges, and third-party vendor costs incurred on behalf of the client
• Issue credit notes and debit notes for billing corrections, freight refunds, and overcharge rectifications following approval from the accounts manager
• Process vendor payments including shipping line freight invoices, airline freight invoices, CFS handling charges, and customs duty disbursements in Tally ERP
• Handle GST compliance for freight forwarding services including forward charge and reverse charge determination, IGST and CGST/SGST classification for domestic versus cross-border freight services
• Follow up with clients on outstanding freight invoices and prepare accounts receivable aging reports for the accounts manager and sales team
• Reconcile ledger entries for freight income, disbursement expenses, and vendor payables on a weekly basis to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Prepare monthly accounts and billing MIS reports covering invoice volumes, outstanding receivables, vendor payment status, and disbursement account reconciliation

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Com or Graduate in Commerce from a recognized institution
• 0 - 3 Years of experience in freight billing, logistics accounting, or back-office accounts at a CHA firm or freight forwarding company; B.Com freshers are considered
• Hands-on knowledge of Tally ERP for accounts entry, ledger management, and vendor payment processing
• Understanding of disbursement account preparation and freight invoice components in an ocean or air freight forwarding context
• Familiarity with GST applicability on freight forwarding services including forward charge and reverse charge mechanism for transportation services
• Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail for freight invoice preparation, DA reconciliation, and credit note processing
• MS Excel proficiency for accounts receivable aging, disbursement account MIS, and monthly billing summary reports
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
