📌 Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute cycle life, rate capability, and calendar aging tests on lithium-ion cells, modules, and battery packs
• Perform abuse testing protocols including nail penetration, crush, overcharge, overdischarge, and short-circuit tests per UN 38.3 and IEC standards
• Operate battery cyclers and environmental chambers for thermal runaway and accelerated aging studies
• Conduct HPPC and GITT tests to characterise cell internal resistance and diffusion parameters
• Analyse electrochemical test data and prepare test reports with capacity fade and resistance growth trends
• Automate battery test sequences using Python or LabVIEW scripts for cycler control and data logging
• Maintain calibration records for test equipment and ensure lab safety protocols are followed during abuse testing

• How do you set up an HPPC test to characterise a lithium-ion cell's internal resistance at different SOC points?

• Explain the difference between calendar aging and cycle aging in lithium-ion battery degradation
• How do you automate a battery cycle life test using Python or LabVIEW?
• What data outputs do you analyse after an accelerated aging test to assess capacity fade?
• How do you calibrate a battery cycler and an environmental test chamber before testing?
