📌 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain BMS firmware for state-of-charge, state-of-health, and cell balancing functions on embedded microcontrollers
• Configure CAN and LIN communication stacks for BMS-to-VCU and BMS-to-charger data exchange
• Implement battery safety monitoring features including over-voltage, under-voltage, over-temperature, and over-current protection
• Perform hardware-in-the-loop testing of BMS firmware using battery emulators and CAN analysers
• Support battery pack integration and end-of-line BMS calibration at the manufacturing plant
• Write and maintain software requirement specifications and design documents per ASPICE or AUTOSAR guidelines
• Collaborate with thermal management and pack design teams to optimise BMS parameters for new cell chemistries

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Explain the Coulomb counting method for SOC estimation and its limitations in Li-ion batteries
• How do you implement passive and active cell balancing in BMS firmware?
• Describe the CAN message structure used for BMS-to-VCU communication in an EV
• What protection thresholds do you configure for over-temperature and over-current in a two-wheeler BMS?
• How do you perform hardware-in-the-loop testing for a BMS algorithm?
• What AUTOSAR modules are relevant to BMS software development?
• How do you diagnose and resolve a cell voltage imbalance fault reported in field vehicles?
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
