📌 Key Responsibilities

• File import Bills of Entry (BoE) on ICEGATE for consignments at Chennai Seaport and Chennai Airport under the supervision of a licensed CHA
• Prepare and submit export Shipping Bills through the ICES (Indian Customs EDI System) for cargo booked through the freight forwarding company
• Classify goods using the ITC-HS code schedule to determine applicable basic customs duty, IGST, anti-dumping duty, and applicable exemption notifications
• Calculate import duty liability including BCD, SWS, IGST, and any additional levies using the customs tariff and applicable exemption notifications
• Coordinate with the shipping line, airline, and port authorities for arrival notice receipt, cargo examination scheduling, and delivery order release
• Follow up with the customs officer and customs examiner for out-of-charge order and delivery order for timely clearance of import consignments
• Prepare and file MEIS, SEIS, RoDTEP, or duty drawback claims for eligible export shipments under the supervision of the CHA team
• Maintain customs file records including BoE, Shipping Bill, examination reports, duty payment challans, and delivery orders for client accounts

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree from a recognized institution in any stream
• 0 - 4 Years of experience in customs clearance at a CHA firm or freight forwarding company; freshers with ICEGATE knowledge are considered
• Hands-on knowledge of import BoE filing and export Shipping Bill preparation on ICEGATE and ICES customs platforms
• Understanding of ITC-HS code classification, customs duty computation, and applicable exemption notifications for import and export cargo
• Familiarity with CHA procedures at Chennai Seaport and Chennai Airport customs stations including examination, out-of-charge, and delivery order processes
• Good attention to detail for accurate declaration of cargo description, quantity, value, and HS code in customs filings
• Knowledge of RoDTEP, duty drawback, or MEIS/SEIS export incentive schemes is an advantage for candidates with prior customs experience
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
