📌 Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor environment, health, and safety programmes across the chemical plant
- Conduct daily safety inspections, work permit verifications, and PPE compliance checks
- Assist in HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and job safety analyses for plant activities
- Investigate near-miss events, incidents, and accidents to identify root causes and corrective actions
- Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 documentation, records, and audit readiness
- Monitor effluent treatment plant (ETP) and air emission parameters for regulatory compliance
- Organise and conduct employee safety training, mock drills, and emergency preparedness exercises
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- B.E. or Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, or Safety Engineering or a recognised safety diploma such as NEBOSH or IOSH
- 0-5 years of EHS experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or process industry plant
- Knowledge of HAZOP methodology, chemical plant fire protection, and emergency response
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 environmental management and ISO 45001 occupational health and safety systems
- Understanding of Factory Act, Environment Protection Act, and MSIHC Rules relevant to chemical plants
- Experience with work permit systems, LOTO procedures, and confined space entry protocols
- Good observation and communication skills for conducting safety inspections and reporting
- Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
