📌 Key Responsibilities

• Own the commercial relationship with assigned key shipper and consignee accounts at the decision-maker and CXO level for retention and business growth
• Conduct quarterly and monthly business reviews with key accounts presenting freight volume data, service performance, and market rate benchmarks
• Negotiate annual freight contracts and spot rate agreements with key account procurement and logistics teams to secure competitive terms and volume commitments
• Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities for additional freight services including customs clearance, cargo insurance, project cargo, and trade compliance advisory
• Manage service level agreements for key accounts including documentation accuracy, transit time performance, and customer service response metrics
• Escalate and resolve operational exceptions including transit delays, cargo damage claims, and customs hold situations for key accounts with urgency and transparency
• Work with the pricing team to structure customized rate proposals, volume incentive pricing, and value-added service packages for key account renewal negotiations
• Prepare key account growth plans with revenue targets, service expansion goals, and customer satisfaction improvement actions for review by the sales manager

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• MBA from a recognized institution; Graduate with strong freight forwarding track record also considered
• 3 - 8 Years of experience in freight sales or key account management at a freight forwarding company with proven revenue retention and growth track record
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-value shipper or consignee accounts at the procurement manager or logistics director level
• Strong understanding of ocean freight, air freight, and customs clearance services to advise clients on freight solutions and service improvements
• Experience conducting formal quarterly business reviews and presenting freight performance data and commercial proposals to client leadership
• Excellent negotiation skills for freight contract and rate agreement discussions with large exporter and importer clients
• Good analytical ability to prepare account growth plans, track revenue by service type, and identify wallet share expansion opportunities within the client's freight budget
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
