📌 Key Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasonic testing on welds, castings, and forgings to detect internal discontinuities per applicable codes
• Carry out magnetic particle testing on ferritic steel components to locate surface and near-surface cracks
• Conduct dye penetrant testing on non-ferrous metals and welds for surface defect detection
• Interpret and evaluate test indications against acceptance criteria per ASME, AWS, or BIS standards
• Prepare NDT reports with findings, sketches, and disposition recommendations
• Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment including UT flaw detectors, probes, and reference blocks
• Coordinate with production and quality teams on non-conforming weld or casting disposition

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Which NDT methods are you ASNT Level II certified in - UT, MT, or PT?
• Have you performed NDT on welds, castings, or forgings in a production environment?
• Which codes and standards have you used for NDT acceptance criteria - ASME, AWS, or BIS?
• How do you calibrate a UT flaw detector before an inspection?
• Have you written formal NDT reports with sketches and disposition?
• Are you familiar with radiographic testing awareness and radiation safety protocols?
• Have you supported third-party NDT inspections or customer witness inspections?
