📌 Key Responsibilities

• Book FCL (full container load) and LCL (less than container load) export cargo with shipping lines and NVOCCs based on shipper requirements and rate instructions
• Coordinate with shippers for SI (shipping instruction) submission, container stuffing at the factory or CFS, and VGM (verified gross mass) filing before vessel cut-off
• Track container movements from factory or CFS gate-in through vessel departure to destination port and proactively update shippers and consignees
• Process B/L documentation including draft B/L preparation, shipper amendments, and coordination of original B/L or telex release instructions with the shipping line
• Coordinate CFS (container freight station) operations for LCL cargo including cargo receipt, consolidation schedule, and export stuffing with the CFS operator
• Follow up with shipping lines for bill of lading original release, freight prepaid confirmation, and CFS charges reconciliation
• Prepare ocean freight operations MIS covering bookings, containers shipped, TEU volumes, and vessel schedule adherence for the operations manager
• Coordinate import shipment tracking including vessel arrival updates, shipping line delivery order, and customs clearance team handover for import FCL and LCL consignments

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree from a recognized institution in any stream
• 0 - 3 Years of experience in ocean freight operations at a freight forwarding company or shipping line office; freshers with freight forwarding knowledge are considered
• Hands-on knowledge of FCL and LCL booking procedures, shipping instruction processing, and VGM filing for export shipments
• Familiarity with CFS operations for LCL consolidation and the difference between FCL and LCL cost and documentation structures
• Understanding of vessel schedule planning, container cut-off deadlines, and shipping line documentation submission timelines
• Good communication skills in English and Tamil for coordination with shippers, shipping lines, CFS operators, and overseas agents
• MS Excel proficiency for shipment register maintenance and basic MIS reporting on ocean freight booking volumes and vessel utilization
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
