📌 Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end operations of the chemical manufacturing plant including production, maintenance, quality, and EHS functions
- Own plant P and L including production cost, yield improvement, waste reduction, and capex project delivery
- Implement and maintain ISO 14001 environmental and ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management systems
- Liaise with customers for quality audits, complaint resolution, and technical discussions on product specifications
- Interface with regulatory authorities including Factory Inspectorate, State Pollution Control Board, and CPCB for compliance and renewals
- Drive annual plant shutdown planning, execution, and post-shutdown review for reliability improvement
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary plant team across operations, quality, maintenance, and EHS functions
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- B.E. Chemical Engineering with 10-20 years of progressive experience in chemical plant management
- Proven track record of managing plant P and L, production efficiency, and capital project delivery
- Strong experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Excellent stakeholder management skills for regulatory liaison, customer audits, and senior management reporting
- Experience in leading annual plant shutdown planning and execution with multiple contractors
- Knowledge of process safety management and HAZOP methodology for chemical plant risk management
- Strong leadership and people development skills for managing plant teams of 50 to 500 employees
- Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
