📌 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate HAZOP and What-If analysis sessions for new and existing chemical processes
- Conduct Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and develop safety integrity level (SIL) requirements
- Implement and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) programme elements across the plant
- Develop and review bow-tie diagrams, risk registers, and process hazard analysis (PHA) documentation
- Oversee safety instrumented system (SIS) requirements specification and verification
- Assist in developing and testing emergency response plans, onsite emergency plan (OSEP), and crisis management procedures
- Monitor process safety performance indicators and report to plant leadership on PSM status
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- B.E. Chemical Engineering with 2-7 years of process safety experience in a chemical or petrochemical plant
- Formal HAZOP facilitation or HAZOP team leader training from a recognised training provider
- Working knowledge of LOPA methodology and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) determination
- Familiarity with PSM regulations in India under MSIHC Rules 1989 and Factory Act
- Experience in preparing PHA documentation, risk registers, and bow-tie analyses
- Understanding of safety instrumented systems (SIS), SIL classification, and functional safety
- Good facilitation and communication skills for leading multidisciplinary HAZOP teams
- Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
