📌 Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished plastic and rubber products against drawings and specifications
- Measure dimensional parameters using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM where applicable
- Conduct visual inspection for surface defects such as flash, flow lines, sink marks, blisters, and foreign inclusions
- Test rubber hardness using Shore A and Shore D durometers and record results against specification
- Apply AQL sampling plans during incoming inspection and final inspection of production batches
- Tag and segregate non-conforming parts and raise rejection reports for disposition review
- Maintain inspection records, calibration logs for measuring instruments, and daily quality summary reports
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- How do you use a vernier caliper to measure the wall thickness of a moulded plastic component?
- What is AQL sampling and how do you determine sample size for a batch of 500 rubber seals?
- How would you identify and classify a sink mark defect on an injection moulded plastic part?
- Have you used a Shore A durometer to measure rubber hardness - what is the procedure?
- How do you raise a non-conformance report when you find out-of-tolerance parts during inspection?
- Have you calibrated measuring instruments and maintained calibration records?
- What is the difference between attribute inspection and variable inspection in quality control?
- Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
