📌 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise rubber compound formulations for seals, gaskets, hoses, and automotive rubber components
• Use Moving Die Rheometer (MDR) to analyse cure kinetics and adjust accelerator and sulphur levels
• Test vulcanised compound physical properties including tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance, and hardness
• Evaluate compound performance in compression set, heat ageing, and fluid resistance tests per ASTM or DIN standards
• Work with material suppliers to source and qualify new carbon blacks, plasticisers, and specialty chemicals
• Maintain compound formulation records, test data sheets, and material approval documentation
• Support customer technical queries on compound properties and provide test data for OEM material approvals

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• What is the role of carbon black in an EPDM or SBR rubber formulation and how does grade selection affect properties?
• How do you interpret an MDR rheometer curve to assess the cure state and plateau torque of a rubber compound?
• What tests do you perform to validate a new NBR compound for an automotive fuel system seal application?
• How do you adjust a sulphur-accelerator cure system to shift the cure time without changing vulcanisate properties?
• Have you worked with fluorosilicone or FKM compounds and what are their distinctive compounding challenges?
• What is compression set and how do you reduce it in a rubber seal compound?
• How do you document and control rubber master batch and final compound formulations in a manufacturing environment?
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
