📌 Key Responsibilities
- Plan sea-air multimodal routing for shipments that combine ocean freight from origin to an intermediate hub port and air freight from the hub to the final destination to balance cost and transit time
- Coordinate with ocean freight shipping lines for the sea leg from origin to the sea-air transshipment hub such as Dubai, Singapore, or Colombo
- Coordinate with airlines and air freight agents at the transshipment hub port for the air leg from the hub to the destination airport
- Manage documentation flow across the sea and air legs including HBL for the sea leg, HAWB for the air leg, and through-transit documentation for customs at the hub point
- Calculate and compare total landed cost and transit time for sea-air route versus full ocean or full air freight routing for client advisory and rate quotation
- Liaise with overseas agents at origin, hub, and destination for seamless cargo handover, customs transit clearance, and onward delivery coordination
- Prepare multimodal shipment tracking updates for clients covering sea leg vessel status, hub customs transit status, and air leg flight tracking to destination
- Coordinate with the customs clearance team for any SEZ, advance license, or specific duty treatment applicable to the client's multimodal import shipments at the destination
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- Graduate degree from a recognized institution in any stream
- 0 - 4 Years of experience in multimodal logistics, ocean freight, or air freight operations at a freight forwarding company; freshers with strong logistics knowledge are considered
- Understanding of sea-air multimodal routing via hub ports such as Dubai, Singapore, and Colombo and the cost and transit time tradeoffs versus full ocean or full air routing
- Knowledge of documentation requirements for multimodal shipments including HBL, HAWB, and through-transit documentation at hub transshipment points
- Familiarity with IncoTerms 2020 and their impact on freight responsibility, insurance, and documentation across multimodal shipments
- Good coordination and communication skills in English for liaising with overseas agents at multiple countries in the sea-air supply chain
- MS Excel proficiency for route cost comparison, transit time calculation, and multimodal shipment tracking register maintenance
- Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
