📌 Key Responsibilities
- Author and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in GHS 16-section format for domestic and export chemical products
- Prepare MSDS documents in legacy formats for customers and markets still requiring non-GHS format
- Write chemical product labels complying with GHS and Indian labelling regulations including BIS IS 1891
- Research chemical regulatory databases including ECHA C and L Inventory, ChemID, and PubChem for hazard data
- Maintain SDS and MSDS master document library and version control for all products
- Coordinate with R and D, QC, and regulatory teams to gather technical data for SDS preparation
- Translate technical product information into clear, compliant written documentation for end-user communication
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. Chemistry with good understanding of chemical properties, hazards, and safety information
- 0-3 years of experience in SDS authoring, chemical technical writing, or regulatory documentation
- Familiarity with GHS (Globally Harmonized System) SDS format, hazard classification, and precautionary statements
- Knowledge of BIS IS 1891 chemical labelling requirements for Indian domestic market is preferred
- Ability to research chemical databases such as ECHA, PubChem, and CCRIS for regulatory and toxicological data
- Excellent written English skills for producing clear and professional technical documents
- Attention to detail for ensuring SDS accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance
- Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
