📌 Key Responsibilities

• Design liquid cooling and air cooling systems for battery packs and power electronics modules in EV platforms
• Perform CFD thermal simulations of battery pack enclosures and cold plate geometries using ANSYS Fluent or Siemens StarCCM
• Develop 1D thermal network models for battery pack thermal management system sizing and control strategy definition
• Select thermal interface materials, phase change materials, and encapsulants for battery module and power electronics thermal management
• Analyse thermal runaway propagation paths and implement mitigation strategies including vent channels and intumescent barriers
• Collaborate with mechanical design team to package thermal management hardware within vehicle and pack design constraints
• Conduct vehicle-level thermal validation tests including summer and winter ambient testing and hot soak testing

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Explain the differences between liquid cooling and air cooling for a lithium-ion battery pack in a two-wheeler versus a four-wheeler application
• How do you model heat generation in a lithium-ion cell for a CFD thermal simulation?
• What properties do you evaluate when selecting a thermal interface material for a battery module cold plate?
• How do you analyse thermal runaway propagation in a multi-cell battery module and what design features can slow it down?
• Describe the 1D thermal network approach for sizing a battery pack cooling system
• How do you design a cold plate for uniform temperature distribution across a battery module?
• What tests do you conduct to validate a battery pack thermal management system at vehicle level?
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
