📌 Key Responsibilities

• Design assembly jigs, drill fixtures, and check fixtures for aerostructure components and sub-assembly stations
• Create 3D tool models and fully detailed fabrication drawings using CATIA V5 or SolidWorks
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to verify that tooling meets positional and interface accuracy requirements
• Specify hydro-mechanical, pneumatic, or toggle clamping systems appropriate for each tooling application
• Coordinate tooling build, acceptance testing, and first article verification with the toolroom and manufacturing team
• Support laser tracker-based tooling alignment and periodic recertification of production tooling accuracy
• Maintain a tooling register, manage engineering changes to tooling, and update tooling drawings in the PDM system

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Do you have a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with at least one year of aerospace jig or fixture design experience?
• Are you proficient in CATIA V5 or SolidWorks for 3D tooling layout and detailed fabrication drawing generation?
• Can you perform tolerance stack-up analysis to verify tooling positional accuracy for aerostructure assembly applications?
• Do you have knowledge of clamping system design including hydro-mechanical, pneumatic, and toggle clamping mechanisms?
• Have you supported tooling build, acceptance testing, and first article verification activities with a toolroom team?
• Are you familiar with laser tracker or optical tooling alignment methods used for aerostructure assembly tooling?
• Do you have experience managing a tooling register and handling engineering changes to production tooling in a PDM system?
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
