📌 Key Responsibilities

• Classify export and import goods using the ITC-HS schedule and advise the customs clearance team on the correct HS code for accurate duty determination and compliance
• Identify and compute duty drawback entitlements for eligible export shipments and coordinate duty drawback claims with the customs department on behalf of clients
• Research and advise on applicable Free Trade Agreement (FTA) benefits for client shipments to eligible partner countries and coordinate certificate of origin issuance
• Assist clients with RoDTEP, MEIS, or SEIS export incentive scheme eligibility assessment and claim filing procedures
• Monitor and advise on import licensing requirements including restricted and prohibited goods, advance license norms, and EPCG obligations for manufacturing clients
• Support customs valuation queries by researching related party transaction rules, transaction value method, and CBIC circulars applicable to the client's imports
• Prepare trade compliance reports including HS code audit summaries, FTA utilization reports, and incentive claim status updates for client account managers
• Stay updated on CBIC circulars, DGFT notifications, Foreign Trade Policy amendments, and WTO trade rule changes affecting client shipments

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree in Commerce, Law, or any stream from a recognized institution; Post-Graduate in Customs Law or International Trade is an advantage
• 0 - 4 Years of experience in trade compliance, customs advisory, or tariff classification at a CHA firm or freight forwarding company
• Sound knowledge of ITC-HS code classification principles, customs tariff structure, and duty drawback schedule under the Indian Customs Act
• Familiarity with FTA provisions under India-ASEAN, India-Japan, India-Korea, and other bilateral trade agreements for origin rule verification
• Understanding of DGFT Foreign Trade Policy provisions including advance license, EPCG, RoDTEP, and MEIS export incentive schemes
• Ability to research CBIC circulars, WTO valuations guidelines, and customs notification amendments for trade compliance advisory
• Good written English communication for preparing compliance reports, client advisories, and HS code justification memos
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
