📌 Key Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing operations across multiple plastic and rubber plants in the Chennai and Tamil Nadu region with full business P and L ownership
• Define and execute the 3 to 5 year manufacturing strategy including capacity expansion, technology upgradation, and automation roadmap
• Own the IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management system at the business unit level
• Build and develop the plant manager and functional head team across all manufacturing sites
• Drive strategic cost reduction programmes targeting material efficiency, energy, and labour productivity at a business-wide scale
• Represent the manufacturing function in board-level reviews, investor meetings, and OEM customer executive engagements
• Lead manufacturing due diligence for acquisition targets or joint venture opportunities in the plastic and rubber sector

• How do you build a 5-year capacity expansion plan for a multi-plant plastic manufacturing business serving 3 major OEM customers?
• Describe your approach to managing a major quality recall affecting 2 million plastic components across 5 OEM customers.
• How do you evaluate and implement an automation investment across 5 injection moulding plants to reduce dependence on manual labour?
• What financial metrics do you present to the board for a plastic and rubber manufacturing business unit monthly review?
• How do you structure the plant manager layer across 6 plants to balance autonomy with corporate quality and EHS standards?
• Describe a manufacturing technology upgrade decision you led - what was the business case and how did you manage the changeover?
• How do you build and retain senior manufacturing leadership talent in a competitive Chennai industrial market?
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
