📌 Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, or shielded metal arc welding on structural steel sections, pipes, and fabricated assemblies
• Prepare weld joints by cleaning, bevelling, and fit-up of components per welding procedure specifications
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding procedure specifications (WPS)
• Monitor interpass temperature, heat input, and sequence to control distortion
• Carry out visual inspection of weld beads and identify surface defects prior to NDT
• Maintain welding equipment including wire feeders, gas cylinders, and torch consumables
• Adhere to hot work permit procedures and fire watch protocols during all welding operations

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Which welding processes are you qualified in - MIG, TIG, or arc?
• Do you hold an AWS D1.1 or EN ISO 9606 welding qualification?
• Which base materials have you welded - mild steel, stainless steel, or alloy steel?
• Can you read welding procedure specifications and interpret weld symbols on drawings?
• How do you control distortion during welding of thin or long sections?
• Have you worked in a welding environment with NDT inspection requirements?
• Are you comfortable working at height or in confined spaces with hot work permits?
