📌 Key Responsibilities

• Set up and optimize MIG, TIG, spot, and laser welding processes for auto component production
• Develop and document Welding Procedure Specifications and Procedure Qualification Records
• Conduct weld quality inspection including visual, dimensional, and destructive tests
• Monitor and control welding parameters such as current, voltage, wire feed, and travel speed
• Investigate weld defects and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Train production welders on process parameters and quality requirements
• Support new program launches with welding process design and PFMEA activities

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Do you have experience setting up and optimizing MIG/MAG or TIG welding processes in an auto plant?
• Are you familiar with resistance spot welding parameters and quality checks?
• Have you prepared or worked with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and PQRs?
• Can you conduct weld quality inspections including visual inspection and destructive tests?
• Do you have knowledge of welding metallurgy and its impact on automotive steel grades?
• Have you led root cause analysis for weld defects such as porosity, undercut, or lack of fusion?
• Do you have any welding inspection certification such as AWS CWI or CSWIP?
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
