📌 Key Responsibilities

• Process monthly salary payroll for client employee populations by collecting attendance data, applying pay inputs, and running payroll cycles in payroll software
• Calculate statutory deductions including Provident Fund, Employee State Insurance, professional tax, and TDS for each employee based on applicable rules
• Maintain and update payroll masters for new joiners, resigned employees, salary revisions, arrears, and one-time pay inputs each month
• File monthly PF and ESI returns, generate ECR challans, and ensure timely remittance of statutory contributions to the relevant government portals
• Prepare and issue salary slips, Form 16, and investment declaration forms to employees at the appropriate periods of the financial year
• Coordinate with the HR generalist and finance team to reconcile payroll data, ensure accurate bank transfer files, and resolve employee payroll queries
• Stay current on TDS slab changes, professional tax notifications, PF wage ceiling updates, and ESI contribution rate changes to ensure payroll compliance

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate in Commerce, Accounting, or any discipline with 0 to 3 years of payroll processing experience at an HR firm, payroll outsourcing company, or corporate HR team
• Working knowledge of Indian statutory compliance for payroll including PF, ESI, professional tax, TDS on salary, and the filing requirements for each
• Hands-on experience with payroll software such as Spine Payroll, greytHR, Keka, or SAP Payroll for processing monthly payroll cycles accurately
• Ability to manage payroll master updates including salary revisions, new joiner data entry, and separation settlement calculations within monthly payroll timelines
• Understanding of Form 16 preparation, investment declaration processing, and year-end TDS reconciliation requirements for employee income tax compliance
• Accuracy and attention to detail for verifying payroll outputs before bank file generation and for resolving individual employee payroll discrepancies
• Good communication skills for responding to employee payroll queries professionally and coordinating with finance and HR operations teams on payroll matters
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
