📌 Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance of rooftop and ground mount solar plants including module cleaning, inverter checks, and cable inspection
- Monitor solar plant performance through SCADA or inverter monitoring portals and report generation shortfalls to the O and M supervisor
- Perform IV curve tracing and thermal imaging to identify underperforming modules, shading issues, and hot spots
- Diagnose and resolve string inverter faults, MPPT errors, and grid fault alarms including reconnection after grid interruption
- Test DC and AC cables for insulation resistance and continuity and replace damaged wiring sections
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly O and M reports including performance ratio, specific yield, and PR trend analysis
- Coordinate with module and inverter suppliers for warranty replacement of faulty components

- How do you diagnose a low performance ratio in a solar plant and what steps do you follow to identify the root cause?
- What is IV curve tracing and what faults does it help identify in a solar PV string?
- Describe the preventive maintenance schedule you follow for a 100 kW rooftop solar plant
- How do you perform an insulation resistance test on a solar DC cable and what minimum values are acceptable?
- What SCADA alarms do you monitor daily on a solar plant and how do you respond to each?
- How do you identify a hot spot on a solar module using a thermal imaging camera?
- What records and reports do you maintain for a solar plant O and M contract?
- Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.

B.E. Electrical or Mechanical for solar project engineer and design engineer roles; Diploma Electrical for solar installation technician and O and M technician roles; ITI Electrician for solar rooftop installation and maintenance roles; MNRE solar installer certification preferred for rooftop solar technician roles; AutoCAD and PVSyst for solar design engineer roles; MBA or Graduate for solar sales and business development roles; PGDM Energy Management from TERI or IGNOU for renewable energy management roles; knowledge of net metering regulations and TANGEDCO grid connectivity norms for sales and project roles in Tamil Nadu; basic electrical safety certification for all site roles
